Josh Marshall has a pretty funny post listing passages from right-wingers celebrating Sarah Palin with the label “fighter.” Some of them were made after Palin announced her resignation yesterday, which means that the people sticking to that description have to churn up some verbal fog to account for it: Palin isn’t abandoning the office to which she was elected, she’s “stepping around political barriers in her way and pursuing her vision.” Kind of like when you dropped out of college for a semester after that bad breakup, not because she flaked out and fell apart, but because you needed to get out of your own head and find yourself.
